As part of the Whitman at 200 events taking place throughout 2019, and in the spirit of Walt Whitman, Philadelphia artist (and 2018 Ecotopian Toolmaker) Deirdre Murphy will lead a one-hour nature art drawing session as part of the Annual Groundhog Day Festival at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge.
Participants will draw from rescue birds and/or taxidermy collection inspired from Whitman's writings, including: little screech owl, blue birds, bald eagle, and blackbird.
