Nilus: Sustainable Technology to Address Climate Change & Water Scarcity in Chile

The Nilus Project is a nature-based buffer solution to build ice stupas that takes inspiration from experiences in LaDakh, India constructing artificial glaciers. Nilus aims to restore Andean Mountain ecosystems by reshaping the water seasonal cycle and increasing its availability to mitigate global warming effects. Four members of the Nilus team will present about their experience building artificial glaciers amidst long-term drought and political transition in Chile.
