Koyna Tomar is a doctoral candidate in the History and Sociology of Science department at the University of Pennsylvania. She is interested in the 20th and 21st-century history of science, technology, and medicine, as it intersects with food, political economy, and the environment. Her dissertation, tentatively titled “Dairy Democracy: Food and Technopolitics in Modern South Asia”, is a social and environmental history of dairy development in colonial and postcolonial India. Prior to Penn, she studied History at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University, and the University of Cambridge.
